5 Must Reads to learn a little more about Life!
Hey everyone, I'm back. Now I'm going to talk about 5 of my fav books that impacted my life. So, let's get started.
1. Tuesdays with Morrie.
This book is so beautiful that every word I would say for it would be less. I got it as a gift from my uncle and I finished it in one sitting :P.
Tuesdays with Morrie is a memoir written by Mitch Albom about his teacher, Morrie who is suffering from ALS. He shares with us some of his greatest lessons about life, love, friendships, pain, and death, which I found really helpful in my daily life.
"Love is different. Love is when you are concerned about someone else's situation as you are about your own."
- Tuesdays with Morrie, Mitch Albom.
2. The Forty Rules of Love
The people who are following me on social media platforms know that I never get tired while praising this book because it's that special.
It's the story of the bond between Shams of Tabriz and Rumi, the remarkable story of Rumi of how he became the poet as we know him now. Elif Shafak beautifully stitches the forty rules of love in the story of Shams, Rumi, and Ella Rubinstein.
"God created suffering so that joy might appear through its opposite," Rumi said. "Things become manifest through opposites. Since God has no opposite, He remains hidden."
-The Forty Rules of Love, Elif Shafak.
3. The Book Thief
Another book that I can't stop ranting about because, yes, it's that good!
It's the story set in World War 2 and I have no idea why I love reading about World War 2, it fascinates me. So it's about a nine-year-old girl, Liesel in Nazi Germany. And the biggest thing which pushed me to grab this book was, it's narrated by Death.
Sometimes people are beautiful. Not in looks, not in what they say, just in what they are.
-The Book Thief, Markus Zusak
4. The Collected Works of A.J. Fikry
So this book was recommended to me by the bookshop owner at Indore and I took it and guess what, I read it in one go.
Gabrielle Zevin captures every emotion with such fine details that I was lost for words when I finished reading this book. It's a story about an arrogant bookshop owner, A.J. and the two-year-old girl Maya, whom he finds in his shop one night. Everything was wonderful about it!
No man is an Island; Every book is a World.
-The Collected Works of A.J.Fikry, Gabrielle Zevin
5. Revive Your Heart
I know what you're thinking, it's a religious read but it's not. I love hearing Nouman Ali Khan's speeches and when I found this book I instantly ordered it.
The speeches of Nouman Ali Khan are transformed into this book in which he talks about life, prayers and our perspective about life. It's not necessary to be a Muslim to read this book because it's for everyone.
"Not letting our mood affect the way we treat people is a forgotten Sunnah."
-Revive Your Heart, Nouman Ali Khan
That's all for today. I hope you enjoyed today's post. Until next time, Keep Writing :D
